Lets see my oldest son is in his Junior year of College (Music Performance Major), the King is now 6 years old and in first grade, and my daughter is now pregnant with her third child (please lord let it be a girl). The King and I have moved to the town where I work...no more long drives woohoo... and are living with my bf...haven't come up with a name for him yet...I have to say the King is really doing great at his new school which makes me very happy! Recently I have been reading several food type blogs, I find them very entertaining so I thought I would start adding some recipes that have been given to me from family and friends so the whole world can enjoy them as much as I do. I promise I wont let years go by before I start posting some recipes! I love to cook and cant wait to share my recipes!!! Oh hey...is it hey or hay things look so weird when I'm typing... anyway I need a new name for my blog site, the one I have is extremely lame.

Happy 4th Birthday Daniel Cole Porter

Daniel is the youngest of my 3 children, as it turns out I seem to have a child every decade, the oldest is my daughter who was born is 1983 who has 2 boys ages 5 and 8 months, my oldest son born in 1990 with no children (thank you lord) and Daniel aka *the King*, born in 2004.

Life lessons and words of wisdom

I was reading "How the worst in life can become the best in life" read: http://tinyurl.com/5b4upl
by Katja Presnal, which got me started thinking about life lessons and words of wisdom. We have all had our parents or grandparents give us words of wisdom throughout our lives, usually when we were young and thought *yeah whatever*. Well as the years passed by and I became an adult with children of my own I realized just how much wisdom was truly in those words. I believe the minute you become a parent you start speaking in a foreign language known as *OMG I sound just like my Mother*, and all of those wisdom filled words come pouring out of your mouth without any forethought (there are also the sayings you use when they are in trouble, but thats another story.) So I used to tell myself I should write a book of all the sayings I so freely hand out to my children since they don't hear anything I say they will need it for future reference when they become parents. Now enough time has passed and instead of writing a book I can post a blog; I'm going to start a list of wisdom filled sayings and ask everyone to send me their very own wisdom filled comments.

1. Never say never
2. Everything happens for a reason
3. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth ( I still don't know what that means)
4. What comes around goes around (or vise versa, I'm not sure which)
5. If you lay down with dogs you get fleas
6. Poo Poo happens : )
7. When life gives you lemons make lemonade (thanks Katja)

These are only a few of the many that I can think of at the moment.

I love Ma & Pa's Country Fixins

I love their Red Hot Apple Jelly.
